Mark Lewis: Due to the enormous popularity of Tennis at Sampford Peverell this Summer, I have been forced to re-arrange our Junior Coaching Programme. We will therefore be running 4 sessions for the remaining 6 weeks of scheduled coaching.

Just a reminder that these dates are….

23rd May ~ 6th June ~ 13th June ~ 27th June ~ 11th July ~ 18th July

Therefore our sessions will run as follows:

1st Session: 4:30 – 5:15
2nd Session: 5:15 – 6:00
3rd Session: 6:00 – 6:45
4th Session: 6:45 – 7:45

Obviously, I will be reviewing the coaching side of things after this block of coaching due to this sudden burst of interest! Do keep checking the website as it is the easiest way for me to communicate with all parents. There is a good chance we will be running some extra, free sessions particularly aimed at those in the first 3 sessions so look out for news on this.

I will be contacting parents already signed up for coaching over the next few weeks to discuss grouping. However, below is what I am planning. If there are any problems with the group your child is in, please feel free to contact me and we will discuss alternatives.

One last thing!
- Every child attending DOES need to pay Membership to ensure they are insured whilst on our tennis courts along with many other benefits. This is essential and needs to be done ASAP. (£10 for Primary School child / £15 for Junior under 16)
- Every parent will profit from a letter that I have been handing out. If you haven’t yet received one, ask me for one next time you see me. Alternatively print off the copy from the website

Subs now due, match fees scrapped, flood lights for free

Membership forms are going out to everyone by email at present. They can also be downloaded here.

The adult membership had increased from £70 to £80 for the coming year. This is because the subs now include the cost of flood lights at social tennis and match fees. So for most people, you will actually be spending less on your tennis.

Most clubs charge at least £1 for flood lights at social or club sessions. But for our club, these flood light costs are now part of the annual subs. The £2 match fees are now scrapped which will be a significant saving for those who play a lot of league games.

It’s now possible for members of the club to update this website
simply by sending an email.
This means team captains can use the site to post fixtures, results
and general news.
Coaches can use it to tell people when a session is cancelled because
of the weather.
And the committee can use it to keep members informed of events and
news.
If you can send email, you can post news to this website. To find out
more, you’ll need to speak to me in person (Simon Townley). I can’t
post the details here publicly for security reasons.

AGM Monday March 3

Please don’t forget that the club’s AGM takes place on Monday March 3 at 7.30. The venue is The Globe pub. There will be food and skittles after the AGM business - which won’t take long.
